Embroidery in Palestine has been a tradition passed on from mother to daughter for generations. Daughters began to learn the art of embroidery around the age of six. Learning from the older women of the village the unique motifs, a sense of pride for each village. His craft continues on into today’s culture as a way of local artisans to express themselves in the more traditional ways. Our artisans here at Bethlehem Fair Trade Artisans embroider everything from shawls to greeting cards to bags. Each needlepoint is embroidered with love and dedication to the Palestinian heritage.
