Recycled Paper Card with Angel Ornament – Red
Recycling reduces the need for extracting (mining, quarrying and logging), refining and processing raw material. All of these create substantial air and water pollution. As recycling saves energy, it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which helps to tackle climate change. At the Al Basma Center (“Smile Center”) our artisans create handmade recycled paper greeting cards. Serving 42 adults with intellectual disabilities, the crafts are a way to empower those that the society has cast off. The greeting cards also allow for waster paper to be used in a more productive second life than lying in a landfill. At the end, our artisans at the Al Basma Center engage in a society as full members thanks to the use of waste paper and ingenuity. We at BFTA asked different schools, universities and organizations to separate paper waste from other waste in order for al Basma Center to recycle and sell.
